After years of planning, development and construction, the Chatham-Kent John D. Bradley Convention Centre held its public Grand Opening on Sunday, May 27. Wonderful food was enjoyed including mini-chicken sandwiches, burgers, Middle Eastern appetizers and refreshing beverages.

Mayor Randy Hope spoke and officially switched on the lovely water fountain that graces the front of the facility. Mayor Hope also thanked the two local women, Lauren Medenblik and Jean Pollock, who submitted the winning name for the Expo Centre: Freedom Hall. Each woman was given a plaque to commemorate her contribution.
